About Linda
Welcome to NutritiousTable.com! I hope that this website gives you insight into my business practices and my philosophies about nutritional health and nutrition counseling. I truly believe that proper nutrition provides the strong foundation you need to maximize your fitness, health and quality of life.
I am a Registered and Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in San Antonio, Texas and have owned and operated my own private practice for over eleven years. I specialize in providing personalized nutrition counseling, tailored to meet the specific health and fitness needs of each individual. My career in dietetics includes over 30 years of experience in personalized nutrition counseling, medical nutrition therapy in hospital settings, food service management, nutrition facts labeling, public speaking and volunteerism.
I am a graduate of Iowa State University, where I earned my BS degree in Food and Nutrition-Dietetics. My dietetic internship was completed at the University of Iowa, College of Medicine. After graduation I passed a national registration exam to become a Registered Dietitian and moved to Texas where I became licensed.
As a resource and spokesperson for the local media, I have appeared on KENS 5 TV (CBS) - Great Day SA, KMOL TV (NBC), KLRN TV (PBS), and FOX TV stations. In addition, I am often an expert nutrition resource for the San Antonio Express-News and KMGC Magic 105.3 radio.
I am especially proud of my recent honors and philanthropic endeavors. I was recognized as a Texas Distinguished Dietitian by the San Antonio Dietetic Association in 2003. In 2005 I was recognized by the San Antonio Business Journal as a San Antonio Healthcare Hero, and in 2004-2005 I was elected President of the Texas Dietetic Association. I continue to be active on the TDA board of directors and with the American Dietetic Association. As a volunteer for San Antonio Fit City / Fit Schools campaign, I was instrumental in the development of nutritional guidelines for Fit City vending machines and continue to volunteer for the YMCA and the Corporate Wellness initiative.
