Home Menu Planning
This class will focus on the fundamentals of planning nutritious, well balanced meals for you and your family. Menu planning ensures better nutrition at a reduced cost and time savings for you! The class will include:
- Basic nutrition
- Where to get menu ideas
- Proper portion sizes
- Food combinations
- Ways to modify menus to fit differing food preferences in the family
- "Planned-over" use and storage
- Cost saving techniques
Special dietary needs will not be covered in this class.
Class Format: 2 - 2 hour classes, Saturdays from 10-11:30.
Maximum of 30 individuals per class. Adults only.
Location: Brass Professional Center Classroom at Babcock and 410
Cost: $100 per person for the 2 class series, cash only, payable at first class.

Basic Home Cooking
This class is meant for the novice cook with little or no previous cooking skills. Whether you are newly married, living on your own for the first time, or needing a refresher course, this class is for you! Home cooking will ensure better nutrition through control of ingredients, calorie control through proper portion sizes, and time savings for you! No meals will be served. The class will include:
- Proper measuring of ingredients
- Use of basic cooking equipment
- Pantry staples
- Making substitutions
- Understanding cooking terminology
- Sanitation and Safety
There will be demonstrations and actual hands on skills, so please bring your own supplies:
- Apron
- Hot Pad mitts
- Plastic 2 cup Liquid Measuring Cup
- Plastic Dry Measuring Cups (1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/4 cup)
- Measuring Spoons
Class Format: 2 - 2 hour classes, Saturdays. Time TBA.
Maximum of 6 individuals per class. Adults only.
Location: Linda's home kitchen.
Cost: $150 per person for the 2 class series, cash only, payable at first class.
